NEC Site Supervisor I am recruiting for a certified NEC Site Supervisor in Birmingham. Experienced in rail, civils, structures, tunnels and viaducts, concrete, and steel. Initial 6 months contract. Hourly rate based on experience. The position is part of the HS2 NEC North Supervision IPT Team and the element of working alone/managing your own workload is essential while supporting all functions given below. The role includes: Monitoring and reporting of compliance with accepted Design, Works Information and applicable standards, specifications, and procedures. Communicates with the Project Management team to raise programme and cost risk that result from any non-compliance. Suggests Early Warnings and inputs into Risk Reduction Meetings where required. Request NCRs and ensures notification of Defects where needed, in accordance with the Contract. Management of NCR and Defects through the contractor’s digital assurance platform and HS2 commercial platform. The Supervisor acts as the conduit between the Contractor and the HS2 teams in agreeing resolutions or acceptance to NCRs / Defects. Review and comment on the ITPs / Materials compliance records, Quality Procedures and Documents in conjunction with the PM and Engineering team. Undertaking inspections and testing, reviewing the outcomes, in accordance with ITPs and established risk-based approach to verify the Contractor’s self-assurance process. Monitor the Contractor to review that the proper processes are identified and implemented to fulfil the contractual quality compliance of the works with the Works Information. Attend and feedback into regular meetings with the PM and Contractor staff. Assist the Project Manager in the review of the Contractor technical certification packages. Contribute to continuous improvement, best practice and lessons learned across all HS2 contracts and areas. Develop and identify additional testing and inspections that may be required in addition to the Works Information in searching for a defect. Provide input to Quality, Inspection and NCR/ Defects Reporting Support the NEC Senior Supervisor to all functions mentioned above.Required skills: NEC Experience CSCS card Driving licence Technical construction background & Management experience (BSc or MSc in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent technical field, and a professional qualification is desirable) 4 – 5 days a week on site NEC ECC site supervisor qualification (can get once started if needed) Familiar with construction methodologies Experience in civils, structures, tunnels and viaducts, concrete and steel preferrable. Computer literacy – ability to use a variety of software platforms – Office, Power BI, digital assurance/EDMS platforms. Good communication and soft skills (Problem solving, Decision Making, Technical Leadership, Technical Communication) Experience in delivery of other major infrastructure projects.
