Are you an experienced electrician with expertise in hazardous and non-hazardous area environments? We’re looking for a Lead Hazardous Area Electrician to play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical projects across the UK. In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll act as the main on-site contact, supporting communication, coordination, and smooth project delivery. You’ll lead site-based teams, ensure safety and compliance at every step, and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to keep projects running to plan. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-organised, technically skilled professional who thrives in a hands-on leadership role. Please note this is a field-based role so you will be required to be on the road Monday to Friday and your base location will be Knowsley, Liverpool so must live within a commutable distance. What you’ll bring Approved electrician status, with an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (JIB Graded Gold Card or above) CompEx Modules EX01–04 or IECEx CoPC Modules EX001–08 City & Guilds 2391 / 2391-52 / 2394 & 2395 Inspection and Testing CCSNG/JIB or equivalent Safety Passport Proven experience installing IECEx/ATEX-rated equipment (motors, control stations, junction boxes, lighting, etc.) Skilled in installing metal trunking, conduit, tray, SWA cables, glands, and LV distribution systems Strong understanding of schematic, loop, P&ID, and zone drawings, with good fault-finding ability IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, sometimes demanding site workWhat’s in it for you We believe in looking after our people and providing everything you need to thrive in your role: 25 days holiday plus statutory days (option to buy 5 extra) Pension contributions Life assurance (up to 4x salary) £30 per night allowance for overnight work Company van, tools, and qualification renewal costs covered The NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
