NRL is currently recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer- Mechanical role on Sellafield. This opportunity is for a 12 month contract.

- Role: Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical
- Type: Contract (Shifts 4 on 4 off)
- Location: Sellafield, Cumbria
- Pay: £50.00 per hour (IR35)
The Commissioning Engineer reporting to the Commissioning Team Leader carries out a role to undertake delivery of assigned commissioning tasks in a safe and effective manner, in line with commissioning process requirements. This role is specific to candidates with experience in nuclear in-cell handler testing.
Responsibilities
- Execution of the arrangements for controlling, witnessing, recording and assessing the results of commissioning tests which may affect safety.
- Delivering the commissioning work scope to an agreed strategy and plan in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Ensuring a proactive and balanced approach to safety (nuclear, radiological, conventional and environmental) to ensure that safety is optimised during commissioning.
- Reviewing commissioning progress and performance and taking appropriate corrective actions where necessary.
- Managing day to day liaison with personnel to obtain any necessary permissions and minimize impact to the project.
- Review of commissioning test results.
- Ensuring input to other project processes are incorporated, for example, design, HAZOP, risk, contract, estimating and knowledge management.
Qualifications
- Nuclear Mechanical systems commissioning
- Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering-related subject or equivalent
- Experience in Nuclear commissioning
- Project Management knowledge, preferably APM member
- Calculation production using Excel
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
- Relevant trade card

- Latest editions of Microsoft Office software
