A leading name in several fields of manufacturing, with a major European and UK presence spanning many operational plants, is seeking a Sales Administrator at their North Manchester based site.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide efficient administrative support to the internal sales and logistics functions by coordinating order processing, customer communication, and logistics documentation. The role ensures accurate sales administration, timely order fulfillment, and smooth coordination between sales, production, and logistics teams to support customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process and manage sales orders accurately, ensuring correct pricing, quantities, and delivery details.
- Liaise with customers to confirm orders, delivery schedules, and resolve routine queries.
- Coordinate with the logistics, production, and transport teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Prepare and maintain sales, shipping, and logistics documentation (invoices, delivery notes, packing lists, proof of delivery etc.).
- Track shipments and deliveries, providing updates to internal teams and customers as required.
- Maintain accurate records of sales orders, customer data, and logistics activities in internal systems.
- Support the sales team with quotations, order confirmations, and reporting.
- Assist with month-end reporting and general administrative duties.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety, and quality standards.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English language.
- Competent on Microsoft packages including Word and Excel.
- Confident, clear, and polite telephone manner.
- Strong organisational, numeracy, and literacy skills.
- A flexible approach and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships and work as a team.
- Knowledge of ERP systems for sales and logistics transactions (desirable).
- Proven experience processing sales orders accurately and within deadlines (desirable).
