An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance & Business Operations Manager to join a successful and growing organisation within the education sector. This role is based within a central support team environment and offers the opportunity to work closely with schools and senior stakeholders to deliver high quality financial and operational support. This position would suit candidates at various stages of their finance career, whether you are looking to further develop your experience within a supportive environment or bring established expertise into a forward thinking organisation.

The Role

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Supporting budget preparation, forecasting, and monitoring across multiple sites
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and supplier accounts
  • Supporting month-end processes including accruals and recharges
  • Assisting with audit processes and financial compliance
  • Supporting procurement activities and contract management
  • Maintaining financial systems and records
  • Providing advice and support to budget holders and operational teams
  • Assisting with payroll administration where required
  • Supporting continuous improvement across finance systems and processes

About you

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (AAT/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA or equivalent)
  • Experience within a finance or accounting environment
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and financial systems experience
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to manage workloads independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience within education or the public sector would be advantageous but is not essential
