Are you a skilled Java Developer with a passion for AI-driven development? We’re looking for someone to join a collaborative, non-hierarchical team and help shape the technical direction of a growing software division. This role offers real technical ownership, working on web applications and internal systems, and contributing to the adoption of AI tools across workflows and products. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in a team where ideas are heard, innovation is encouraged, and ownership matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Enhance and maintain a web application used to monitor and manage complex systems
  • Develop and improve interfaces with devices and technologies
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure systems run smoothly
  • Contribute to configuration and deployment of robust Java applications

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex Java systems (experience matters more than years)
  • Some hands-on experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude) in daily development
  • Passion for helping teams grow their confidence with AI through pairing, knowledge-sharing, or upskilling
  • Strong Java skills, including threading, JDBC, sockets, HTTP/S, EJB, and JPA
  • Experience with application servers (such as WildFly) and deploying Java applications

Why This Role?

  • Work in a flat, collaborative environment - everyone is listened to, and ownership is valued
  • Influence the technical and AI strategy of the team from the ground up
  • Be part of a team taking “baby steps” in AI adoption, learning and experimenting together
  • Opportunity to grow into a senior technical leadership role over time
  • Flexible working (fully remote available)
