A fast growing retail technology business based in Manchester is looking to strengthen its cyber capability with the appointment of a Security Operations Analyst. The organisation operates a cloud first infrastructure supporting a significant online customer base. Security monitoring is delivered through a blend of internal expertise and managed services, with a strong emphasis on rapid detection and response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently investigate and validate security alerts across cloud, endpoint and network environments.
  • Perform detailed incident analysis, identifying root cause and supporting effective containment strategies.
  • Ensure accurate and structured documentation within incident management systems.
  • Provide insight into recurring alert patterns and contribute to optimisation of detection rules and processes.
  • Participate in threat intelligence reviews and proactive threat hunting activities to enhance visibility.

Key Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience within a SOC or security monitoring role, handling incidents through to resolution.
  • Practical knowledge of SIEM tooling, cloud security controls and endpoint detection platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and common attack methodologies, with the ability to apply this in live investigations.
