Management Accountant

Management Accountant | Hybrid | Newcastle

Our client, a respected professional services firm, is seeking a Management Accountant to join their growing finance team based in Newcastle city centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to take on a broad, hands-on role supporting senior leadership, with the chance to influence financial processes and performance across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements
• Develop budgets and financial forecasts
• Monitor financial performance and highlight variances
• Deliver clear management information (MI) for decision-making
• Support the Finance Director on planning and reporting
• Supervise an Assistant Management Accountant
• Oversee the credit control function
• Submit VAT returns and payroll data
• Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness
• Produce departmental P&Ls and accurate cost allocation
• Handle regulatory and ad hoc reporting (e.g. ONS, SRA, surveys)

About You

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent)
• Strong experience in management accounting
• Ideally from a professional services background (not essential)
• Proficient in accounting systems and Excel
• Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
• Self-sufficient and proactive
