Are you an organised, proactive administrator with a background in transport coordination or plant hire? We are working with a leading construction business to find a Plant & Transport Administrator to support the day to day operations of plant and equipment hires, as well as coordinate transport movements across a range of busy sites.
About the opportunity: This is a key role within a fast paced Plant & Transport team, where you will be central to ensuring efficient internal and external plant operations. From managing hire reports to updating compliance records, you will support the logistics and equipment needs across multiple projects. You will work closely with the P&T Manager and other operational teams to ensure all plant, equipment and transport is managed professionally, safely, and cost effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal plant/equipment bookings in and out of yard/stores
- Organise transport logistics for deliveries and collections
- Track live hire reports and ensure timely returns from sites
- Manage and update plant certification records (LOLER, PUWER, etc.)
- Assist in regular stock checks and fleet list updates
- Issue purchase orders and ensure records are accurately filed
- Provide weekly KPI updates on vehicles and plant performance
- Liaise with site teams to support efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations
- Support the team with general admin and continuous improvement initiatives
What we’re looking for:
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Confident IT user, especially with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive and flexible work ethic
- Experience with transport or plant hire operations
- Stock control and admin experience
- Awareness of cost and budget control
- Knowledge of crane operations or temporary works equipment
- Construction or civil engineering experience
- Understanding of safety and compliance in logistics (LOLER, PUWER)
