Job Purpose: To carry out the service, maintenance, repair, and fault diagnosis of air conditioning and HVAC systems to a high standard. The role requires a fully qualified engineer who can work independently, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and deliver excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults on split, multi-split, VRV/VRF, and chiller systems.
- Carry out reactive maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
- Complete system inspections and performance testing.
- Accurately complete service reports, job sheets, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with current health & safety and F-Gas regulations.
- Liaise professionally with clients on-site and provide technical advice where required.
- Identify and report additional works or system improvements.
- Mentor and support trainee or junior engineers when required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
- Good experience servicing and fault finding all aspects of refrigeration e.g., VRV systems, chill water fan coil units, chillers.
- Valid F-Gas certification (Category 1).
- Fully qualified in Air Conditioning / Refrigeration.
- Proven experience servicing and repairing AC systems in commercial or industrial environments.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence (clean).
Desirable:
- Experience with Air Source Heat Pumps.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS).
- IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
- Health & safety qualifications (e.g., CSCS, SSSTS).
Personal Attributes:
- Professional and customer-focused approach.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexible and willing to travel as required.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Overtime may be required. Saturday work available (based on customer demand) if desired.
