We are looking for an experienced Service Centre Manager to manage the Waltham Forest depot at NRG Riverside, a company where many employees recommend us as a ‘Great Place to Work’.
Brief Description
You will oversee the service and repair of a variety of vehicles, manage technicians, and coordinate maintenance activities. In return, we offer discounted shopping, cinema, gym membership and a talent development programme.
Who will you be working for?

What candidate are we looking for?
- Extensive experience from within an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Engineer role
- Leadership experience in a managerial / supervisory capacity is ideal but not essential
- Experience in the waste / recycling industry would be great, but not essential
- Municipal experience, including working on refuse trucks, is a plus
- Excellent customer service
- Great team player; also able to work on own initiative
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety practices
What will be your duties?
- Supervise workshop staff, allocate daily workload, monitor quality and ensure optimum productivity
- Motivate, coach and direct staff, manage attendance, time‑keeping and rest breaks for consistent productivity
- Repair and maintain all fleet vehicles as required
- Ensure all service and repairs meet customer and DVSA standards
- Ensure productivity sheets are completed and passed to the administrator for processing
- Ensure service and defect job cards are filled and signed correctly, and standard times are adhered to
- Follow health and safety procedures
- Review and sign off vehicle service/job cards, ensuring data is correct before closing
- Liaise with Contract Manager daily to meet SLA customer requirements
- Maintain high workshop housekeeping standards and keep stores tidy and well‑organised
