Rotating Shift Pattern:

  • Week 1: 06:30 to 16:00 Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break
  • Week 2: 07:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break

Salary: £50,252.67 per annum

In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including refuse trucks. Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets.

What candidate are we looking for?

  • Experience from within a HGV Technician/Mechanic role
  • Municipal experience including working on Bin Wagons
  • Repairs and wheel alignment
  • HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent
  • Class 2 licence preferred
  • IRTEC accreditation preferred
  • Experience of working in a similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry
  • Excellent customer service
  • Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative
  • Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be great, but not essential
  • Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices

What will be your duties?

  • Undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customers' vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
  • Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test
  • Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
  • Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
