Job Summary
HGV Technician – Salary: £50,300.87 per annum + company van. Working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06:30 to 16:00. Tunbridge Wells.

In this role you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including RCVs (refuse collection vehicles). Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets. Who will you be working for?
NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company, and we provide specialist vehicles on short and long‑term hire, a range of vehicle maintenance packages and a large portfolio of high‑quality used vehicles for sale. Established in 1996, we’ve supported our valued customers to rationalise and decarbonise their fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing ‘Vehicle Off Road’ (VOR) time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience from within a HGV Technician/ Mechanic/ Engineer/ Fleet Engineer role
- Experience in waste/recycling industry is a plus but not essential
- Municipal experience including working on RCVs (Refuse Collection Vehicles) is a plus
- Tacho calibration, repairs and wheel alignment
- HGV Technical qualification – NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent
- Class 2 licence preferred
- Excellent customer service
- Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative
- Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices
Responsibilities
- Undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customer vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
- Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repairs and final preparation for MOtest
- Attend breakdowns, diagnose and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
- Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
