Overview
Apprentice HGV Technician role at NRG Riverside in Widnes. Salary: £16,640 - £25,396.80 per annum + bonus. 40 hours per week.
NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company. We provide specialist vehicles on short and long-term hire, vehicle maintenance packages, and a large portfolio of used vehicles. Established in 1996, we support customers to rationalise and decarbonise fleets, reduce Vehicle Off Road (VOR) time, and improve efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Attend College and other training courses to learn the technical aspects of HGVs.
- Work alongside qualified HGV Technicians to learn practical mechanics.
- Maintain a commercial fleet of HGVs in the workshop to DVSA standards, following Company and manufacturer policies.
- Minimize customer downtime by efficiently managing each job and aiming for standard working times where possible.
- Maintain external client vehicles & trailers to high standards and meet customer expectations.
- Keep documentation accurate and up to date using designated paperwork and IT systems.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and used safely; liaise with Supervisor and Service Centre Manager when necessary.
- Follow environmental and COSHH Health & Safety requirements in line with health and safety regulations; liaise with relevant managers as needed.
- Provide positive communication about services to customers to ensure a good experience.
