About the Role
As Internal Sales Manager (mortgages), you will take full responsibility for leading and developing a team of Telephone Business Development Managers (TBDMs). You will play a hands-on role in driving performance and ensuring the team consistently delivers against call activity, conversion, and completion targets. This is a leadership position where you will directly influence revenue outcomes, team engagement, and future talent development, particularly as you help shape the next generation of field-based BDMs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and inspire a team of TBDMs, driving a high-performance sales culture
- Monitor and deliver against KPIs including call activity, conversion, and completions
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex cases and broker queries
- Triage large and complex deals (including multi-million-pound portfolios) prior to underwriting
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, identifying future talent for promotion into field roles
- Deliver onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing team members
- Maintain high levels of engagement, accountability, and performance through structured management
- Support broader operational leadership, with potential oversight of broker support functions
- Collaborate closely with underwriting and senior stakeholders to ensure deal viability and service excellence
