About the Underwriter - Bridging Finance Role
You will take ownership of bridging and short-term loan applications from initial assessment through to completion. Working closely with brokers, solicitors, valuers and internal teams, you will assess risk, structure facilities, and ensure cases meet policy and compliance standards. This is a role for someone who is commercially sharp, confident in their judgement and able to handle a dynamic pipeline with accuracy and pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite bridging and short-term property finance applications from start to finish
- Conduct full due diligence including credit analysis, valuation reviews, legal assessments and exit strategy evaluations
- Assess proposals against lending criteria, risk appetite and regulatory requirements
- Prepare clear and concise credit papers or summaries where required
- Liaise effectively with brokers, solicitors, valuers and internal departments
- Ensure all lending decisions align with compliance, AML, KYC and responsible lending
- Support continuous improvement of underwriting processes
- Keep up to date with market conditions and regulatory developments
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience underwriting bridging finance or short-term property loans
