Case Manager | City of London, Office Based | Up to £45,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Own the file, the process and the pace - be the person brokers trust to tell them the truth about where their case really stands.

About the Company

Our client is a specialist bridging and refurbishment lender based in central London, writing short-term secured loans against residential and commercial property across England and Wales, funded through a mix of institutional lines, private investors, equity and their own managed fund. A team of around fifteen, their differentiator is speed with real substance - issuing genuine, credit-assessed conditional offers fast, and building the process discipline to back that promise up.

About the Role

As Case Manager, you will take ownership of each file from the moment a broker confirms they are proceeding, managing quotes, KYC, valuations, the legal workstream and completion, through to handover to portfolio management. Underwriters own the risk decision - you own the process, the file and the pace. This is a genuinely hands‑on role within a small, fast‑growing lender, with case management widely seen as the natural route into underwriting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the file from the moment a broker confirms they are proceeding, staying the constant point of contact through to completion
  • Obtain valuation and legal quotes, select the panel solicitor and present terms to the broker
  • Run KYC, AML and identity checks for borrowers and guarantors, and keep an accurate record of outstanding conditions
  • Instruct and manage panel valuers and, on refurbishment cases, the relevant monitoring professional
  • Prepare the groundwork for the credit paper and arrange the borrower call
  • Lead the legal work stream end-to-end, chasing solicitors and surfacing problems early
  • Escalate anything affecting security, loan structure or the lender's position to the underwriter before communicating with brokers or solicitors
  • Complete pre‑completion checks and manage a smooth, well‑communicated completion day, then prepare a full handover to portfolio management

Package

  • Up to £45,000 basic salary
  • Discretionary end‑of‑year bonus
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Office‑based in the City of London

Skills & Experience

  • At least one year's experience in case management, loan administration or completions at a bridging, development or specialist property lender - or in a brokerage running short-term secured cases through to completion
  • Practical knowledge of the short‑term secured lending lifecycle: conditional offers, valuations, legal charges, conditions precedent/subsequent and drawdown
  • KYC and AML experience in a regulated lending environment
  • Confident, professional telephone manner, with clear written English for broker and solicitor correspondence
  • Comfortable managing a full, variable caseload under sustained pressure

Why Apply?

Case management is the natural route into underwriting here - those who run a disciplined pipeline and show sound judgement on escalation are developed towards underwriting or senior case management, in a small team where progression is driven by capability rather than waiting for a vacancy.
