Are you an experienced, proactive PR professional seeking a hands-on role where no two days are the same? We are partnering with a highly successful business to find a motivated Communications Specialist to join their Corporate Affairs Team on a one-year maternity cover contract. In this varied and dynamic role, you will be the driving force behind their PR and social media content, working closely with colleagues across all divisions and with external clients. From crafting engaging press releases to managing PR events, you'll help secure positive media coverage and elevate our client's brand across the region.
What You Will Be Doing
- Source, write, and manage highly engaging content for press releases, social media (with a focus on leading their LinkedIn strategy), internal communications, and website copy.
- Organise impactful PR opportunities with clients and key stakeholders.
- You will regularly get out from behind the desk to visit active sites across the North East and Yorkshire, coordinating media activities and capturing content.
- Partner with colleagues across divisions for content ideation and secure necessary approvals from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate outreach using media monitoring platforms to generate high-quality placements and track PR success.
- Assist with managing existing website content, including uploading copy via Umbraco, while ensuring the consistent application of the client's brand guidelines.
The Ideal Candidate
Our client is looking for a highly organised, punctual, and reliable team player with a distinct "can-do" attitude. You should be comfortable taking the initiative and confident in meeting new people and tackling new challenges.
Key Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a fast-paced communications, PR, or marketing environment.
- A full UK driving licence is essential, alongside a willingness to travel across the North East and Yorkshire as required.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, an excellent eye for detail, and proven experience in PR content creation and social media management.
- Confidence in liaising with multiple stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- A strong understanding of Microsoft Office packages.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Business, PR, Digital Marketing) and a general understanding of the construction sector are highly desirable.
