An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Administrator / Legal Secretary to join a busy Family Law Department within a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Whitley Bay. This is a key support role within a friendly and professional team, assisting fee earners who handle a range of sensitive family law matters including divorce, separation, children arrangements, and financial settlements.

The Role

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to solicitors within the Family Department.
  • Dealing with legal correspondence, court documents, and reports.
  • Managing diaries, arranging appointments, and scheduling hearings.
  • Handling incoming telephone calls and client enquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Preparing, organising, and maintaining case files (digital and paper-based).
  • Liaising with courts, clients, counsel, and external organisations.
  • General administrative duties including scanning, filing, and post handling.
  • Supporting compliance and file management processes.

About You

  • Previous experience in a legal secretarial or administrative role (family law experience desirable but not essential).
  • Strong audio typing and document production skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
