My client is looking for a skilled and proactive technician to join their team to maintain and repair a modern, diverse fleet of heavy goods and commercial vehicles. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same – from diagnostics and electrical repairs to fabrication and roadside call-outs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Carrying out scheduled servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic tools
  • Performing bodywork repairs, welding, and fabrication
  • Ensuring all vehicles meet compliance and road safety standards
  • Supporting junior team members and maintaining a safe, clean workshop
  • Attending breakdowns and off-site work when needed
  • Participating in a standby rota for out-of-hours cover (as required)

  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair – essential
  • Proven experience with HGV servicing, diagnostics, and repair
  • Strong understanding of modern vehicle systems (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical)
  • Welding/fabrication experience preferred
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • IRTEC accreditation desirable (or willingness to achieve)
