Salary: £48,117 plus up to 12% annual bonus and excellent NHS Pension Scheme

The Role

The NHS Fleet Solutions team is responsible for generating valuable non‑core income that is reinvested into patient care. Operating within the competitive salary sacrifice marketplace, the business continues to grow across the NHS and wider public sector, supported by a collaborative team committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience. Reporting to the Head of Account Management, the Account Development Manager will manage a portfolio of established customer accounts, building trusted relationships with clients, understanding their objectives and ensuring they continue to receive an outstanding level of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximise performance across a defined portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong, long‑term relationships.
  • Champion the needs of clients and scheme users across the wider business.
  • Deliver an exceptional level of customer service and account support.
  • Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to strengthen client engagement.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to develop existing customer relationships and support business growth.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the commercial team to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate records using the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, responding proactively to feedback where appropriate.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of developments within the salary sacrifice and employee benefits sector.
  • Represent NHS Fleet Solutions at customer events, exhibitions and webinars across the UK.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure consistently high standards of customer service.
  • Provide regular account updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries, escalating where appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Promote NHS Fleet Solutions and its wider commercial services to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the continued development of Northumbria Healthcare Group's commercial reputation and brand.
  • Develop knowledge of the wider commercial services available across the Group to identify opportunities for cross‑collaboration.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of contacts across existing and prospective client organisations.
  • Research and analyse market opportunities, providing insight and supporting business development activity.
  • Deputise for the Head of Account Management and/or Group Sales Director when required.
  • Assist with the supervision of the sales and account management support team as appropriate.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys building lasting relationships and takes pride in delivering an outstanding customer experience. You may already be working in an account management, client relationship or customer success role and will be confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels. You'll be organised, commercially aware and proactive in your approach, with the confidence to represent NHS Fleet Solutions professionally both in meetings and at external events. Most importantly, you'll enjoy working collaboratively, be keen to understand your clients' needs and be motivated by helping them achieve the greatest value from their partnership.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree educated or a minimum of three years' experience within a Business‑to‑Business (B2B) environment.
  • Previous account management experience.
  • A proven track record of developing commercial relationships and delivering against KPIs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using a CRM system.
  • Strong presentation and report writing skills.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
  • Self‑motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays.

Experience of using AI to improve business practices would be advantageous.
