This business delivers consultancy, software and managed services across sectors such as telecoms, transport, education and the public sector. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking to hire a Security Engineer to join their technical delivery team.
This is an exciting opportunity to transition into a cyber-focused role, working alongside experienced consultants and engineers who will actively mentor and support your development. You will be involved in engineering and implementing security solutions, contributing to internal IT projects and gaining exposure to a range of cutting-edge technologies.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Implementing security technologies, including Next Generation Firewalls, DPI, WAF and secure infrastructure
- Creating detailed low-level designs and configuration documentation
- Hardening Windows and Linux environments
For this role you should have:
- Strong grounding in networking or infrastructure, ideally with experience in Cisco ASA/FTD firewall deployments
- Hands-on administration of Windows and Linux servers, and virtualisation platforms like VMware
- Knowledge of VPNs, ACLs, PKI, and end-to-end network traffic flow
- A desire to transition into cyber engineering with clear motivation and learning drive
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP)
- Exposure to technologies such as Cisco ISE, Umbrella, Meraki or Fortinet
- Scripting or automation experience with Python or APIs
