The Finance Systems Team is responsible for supporting the core EMEA finance system (Aderant Sierra), including time, billing, expenses, vendors, tax and reporting. We are seeking a Data Administrator, with Aderant and Finance Operations experience, to join our EMEA team. This is a key role in supporting the day-to-day function of the firm's EMEA finance systems and will provide essential assistance to finance operations and other data users, including senior stakeholders in the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- User Support: support application users, and respond to queries and requests from fee earners, secretaries and finance operations staff for data changes, extracts and updates.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: monitor the health and performance of data systems, identify and resolve quality issues, bottlenecks and anomalies, and identify, analyse and resolve other data-related problems, and minimise errors.
- Data Monitoring and Management: support the provision of advanced data management for financial systems, including applying data governance and stewardship standards, supporting enforcement of permission structures, maintaining data taxonomies, schemas and mapping, conducting regular data cleansing, de-duplication and remediation, and updating and changing data in line with changing business needs.
- Data Acquisition and Preparation: source, collect, clean and structure data for operational use and analysis, using SQL queries and logic if necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: understand user requirements and requests, identify opportunities for enhancements and work with teams to test and implement changes.
Skills and Experience Required
- We are seeking a proactive, and solutions-oriented individual with experience working with financial systems and finance operations.
- You will need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the business, including for a variety of data and business intelligence issues and stakeholder requests.
- Ideally degree educated and/or 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Good customer/user service abilities, demonstrated by resolving user queries and working with customers.
- Data management experience and/or expertise in finance practice management systems (FPMS).
- SQL proficiency, as well as the ability to run queries unsupervised.
- Experience working within structured ITSM frameworks, such as ITIL.
- Familiarity with core finance processes (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, reporting) ideal.
- Experience within a law firm or other professional services environment desired.
- Solutions-orientated and proactive approach to work.
- Willingness to upskill on the job through internal and external training.
- Able to demonstrate discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Team player – flexible and willing to take on extra responsibilities to support departmental or firm objectives.
