The EMEA Document Production Team (DocProd) supports our EMEA offices and is responsible for creating, editing and reformatting all types of documents consistent with the practice's precedents, templates and House Style across all Microsoft Office 2016 applications. The team handles the processing of all copy, audio and scanned work and provides assistance to the business in relation to resolving problem or corrupt documents.

We are currently recruiting for a Newcastle based Document Production Technician to work Monday to Friday (09:30-17:30) in our Newcastle Hub working Hybrid - 2/3 days in the office and 2/3 days working from home each week. You will be working as part of a motivated team to provide professional, high quality documentation.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • To produce and amend lengthy and complex business critical documents with speed and accuracy, in line with our house style
  • To proofread and check all work for spelling, grammar, formatting, presentation and sense
  • To be proactive in learning new skills and technology within your role to support the needs of the business
  • To respond to internal and external telephone enquiries politely and professionally
  • To make sure that there is an effective and efficient handover of work between shifts
  • To show initiative when responding to queries and to actively try and seek solutions to problem documents
  • To proactively share information in relation to document best practice or 'fixes' to document problems, consistent with the team's overall aim for excellence in accuracy and efficiency
  • To be flexible in meeting the needs of the team and the business - e.g. occasional shift changes (with reasonable notice) to accommodate team meetings, training sessions, support requirements etc.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Established document production experience in a fast paced professional services environment using templates and House Style with exposure to working with lengthy and corrupt documents
  • Typing speed of at least 65wpm and proficient in both audio and copy typing
  • Proficient user of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio 2016
  • Experience of working on and problem solving corrupt documents
  • Experience of using PDF Docs, Adobe Pro and DocXTools
  • Experience of working with scanned documents
  • MOS Word Expert Qualification (additional MOS qualifications PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook beneficial)
