The Technology Adoption Lead plays a central operational role in embedding legal technology tools, including generative AI, into everyday legal practice. The role involves working directly with lawyers to accelerate adoption, build confidence, and integrate technology into matter workflows. This is a hands‐on role that requires close collaboration with legal teams to identify use cases, design prompts and workflows, and support behavioural change. The successful candidate will have prior experience working in a law firm and an understanding of legal workflows. The role will be aligned to one of the firm's core practice areas (Banking, Corporate, Disputes), subject to prior experience, and will report to the firm's Legal Technology Manager.

The IDT team is part of the firm's legal transformation function and works across the EMEAPAC region. The team collaborates closely with the Legal Project Management team, the Legal Services team in Newcastle, the Digital Solutions team, IT and the Knowledge Management team. The legal transformation function aims to enhance the lawyer experience, improve client outcomes, and strengthen financial performance by identifying opportunities to use technology, new delivery models and improved ways of working.

You have experience working in a legal environment and a strong understanding of legal work, processes, common challenges, and client expectations. You have experience supporting the adoption of new technologies, including generative AI, and understand how they can improve service delivery. You have strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into accessible guidance for legal and business audiences. You are proactive, thrive in a fast‐paced environment, and enjoy building relationships and contributing to cultural and behavioural change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Embed generative AI tools into legal processes across the firm's key practice groups.
  • Provide direct, on‐the‐ground support to lawyers, including building prompts, developing workflows, and supporting matter‐specific applications.
  • Work with Innovation leads to identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency through the use of technology.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of templates, guidance, and precedents for technology/genAI adoption.
Training and Capability Building
  • Deliver structured training to lawyers on the effective use of AI tools, including best practice, responsible use, and prompting techniques.
  • Assist lawyers in building workflows, prompts, and ways of interacting with AI tools to achieve high‐quality results.
  • Develop and deliver demonstrations and practice‐specific examples that showcase the capabilities and benefits of legal technology tools.
  • Capture feedback regarding the use of AI tools to inform internal guidance and adoption.
Collaboration and Relationship Building
  • Build strong working relationships with lawyers, develop an understanding of workflow challenges and client needs, and maintain a visible presence in the office.
  • Engage regularly with legal teams to gather feedback and support adoption, and ensure legal teams use legal technology, including gen AI tools, effectively and confidently.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of three years' experience working in a law firm environment (legal operations, innovation, legal technology or related role); a legal qualification is not required.
  • Understanding of legal workflows and the application of AI tools to legal tasks.
  • Proven experience supporting technology adoption and change in ways of working.
  • Experience delivering training and producing high‐quality support materials for legal and business audiences.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in clear, accessible language.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their application to legal work, including document drafting, contract/case analysis and research.
  • Ability to develop prompts and workflows for AI systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‐building abilities.
  • Experience with client‐centred design, agile and lean methodologies (desirable).
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform decisions and measure outcomes.
  • Ability to support cultural change and promote adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Ability to translate between legal workflows and technical capabilities.
