Summary
We are recruiting a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our expanding practice. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing our clients' financial records and ensuring accurate bookkeeping practices. Your role will cover a variety of different responsibilities within bookkeeping, VAT, and providing assistance to the accountants with year end workings.
Your role will cover:
- Bookkeeping via a variety of digital systems / Cloud accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent
- Financial transaction recording in an accurate and timely manner.
- Preparation, calculation and submission of VAT returns to HMRC.
- Preparation of management accounts.
- Liaising with clients to address accountancy-related queries, provide guidance, book clean-up and book handling.
- Conducting regular client system audits to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Practice administration.
Qualifications and skills:
- Proficient IT skills, with experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office products, accounts, tax and bookkeeping software, preferably with good experience of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, IRIS and Digita.
- Good communication skills, able to confidently liaise with clients by telephone, e-mail and face to face.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of UK Tax and VAT legislation and regulations.
- Able to work both individually and within a team.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience within public practice.
- Preference will be given to candidates with AAT or above qualifications.
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000
Job Types: Permanent, full time
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week
Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday
Experience: Bookkeeping: 2 years (preferred)
