Active Neuro at Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is seeking an experienced Lead Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and highly skilled multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist SLT to deliver expert care to adults with neurological conditions resulting from injury, illness or disease, supporting clients with physical, cognitive and communication difficulties in a well-established neurorehabilitation service. You’ll have the chance to make a real and visible difference to our clients’ recovery and quality of life while working alongside experienced clinicians in a collaborative and supportive environment.
In this senior role, you will lead therapy initiatives and play an active part in service development, while providing high-quality, evidence-led interventions.

The Role:
As part of our transition to Active Neuro, the therapy service is evolving into a seven-day model of care to better support the rehabilitation needs of our clients. As a result, occasional pre-arranged weekend working will be required. You will also be expected to work Bank Holidays as required by the service, with enhanced pay provided in line with company policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist SLT assessment and treatment for clients with complex neurological needs.
- Devise and implement evidence-led therapy programmes at a specialist level, emphasising multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Independently plan and lead communication therapy groups.
- Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidance.
- Undertake key worker duties, ensuring cohesive goal-setting, therapy coordination, and discharge planning.
- Formally supervise less experienced SLTs and assistants in line with ACG policy.
- Take an active role in the induction and training of other members of the interdisciplinary team (IDT).
- Ensure all relevant codes of practice, regulations, and HCPC registration requirements are upheld.
- Contribute to the implementation and review of SLT policy and service development initiatives.
About You:
- HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
- Previous experience in a neurorehabilitation setting.
- Specialist-level dysphagia competency according to the RCSLT framework.
- Formal supervision/line management experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team-working skills.
