Purpose
To support and accompany the employee on activities and transportation.
Responsibilities
- Picking up the employee and traveling by bus or train to visit places or activities they enjoy.
- Planning activities with the employee.
- Providing life skills such as supporting or prompting the employee to go shopping.
Compensation and Benefits
- Wages will be paid on a 4‑weekly basis after a valid National Insurance number has been provided.
- The employee must be eligible to work in the UK.
- Annual leave entitlement will be provided in accordance with statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in the contract of employment.
- The employee will be issued a Personal Assistants Handbook when employment commences.
Qualifications
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Good sense of humour and patience.
- Experience working with adults on the spectrum is desirable but not essential.
- Must be a driver (own car not required as the employer provides a mobility vehicle).
- Preferably a female personal assistant (subject to equal‑opportunity principles).
- Calm and understanding of autism.
