We are seeking a STEM & Resources Technician to provide technical, practical, and administrative support across our Design Technology and Science departments. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to hands-on learning and ensure our workshops and laboratories run safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for Design Technology and Science lessons.
- Support teaching staff and pupils during practical sessions.
- Maintain, clean, and store tools and equipment safely.
- Carry out routine safety checks and report hazards promptly.
- Manage stock levels and inventories of materials and consumables.
- Provide reprographics support (photocopying, printing, laminating, binding).
- Assist with departmental events, exhibitions, and enrichment activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a practical or technical environment.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and health & safety requirements.
- Ability to organise resources and follow instructions accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
Desirable Qualifications
- Training or experience in Science laboratory support.
- Experience with reprographics or print-room equipment.
- Vocational qualification in Design Technology or a related subject.
- Health & Safety or COSHH training.
