We are currently seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team as a Waste Enforcement Officer. Waste Enforcement Officers contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and attractive environment across the County Borough through the enforcement of environmental legislation and investigating waste related offences.
As a Waste Enforcement Officer, you will work closely with residents, partner agencies and internal departments, undertaking group and individual exercises and patrols to investigate and where appropriate take enforcement action, including fixed penalty notices for littering, dog fouling, fly tipping and other associated waste offences.
You will need to keep accurate and thorough records, undertake interviews, collect and record evidence; and where required to do so, produce statements and give evidence in court. It may be required, if you are called to be a witness in court, to undergo a Police National Computer search to check if you have any previous convictions and an employee check to demonstrate your disciplinary record.
It is desirable that you will have experience of taking enforcement action, handling confrontation and giving evidence in court. You will need to be flexible to carry out a range of duties and from time to time work unsocial hours and weekends. You must possess 4 GCSE's (Grade C or above) one of which must be English Language or Welsh or equivalent.
