We are currently looking for a Deputy Registration Manager to join our team. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Registration Service as Deputy Registration Manager. This role will support the Superintendent Registrar and play a key part assisting with the leadership and supervision of the district’s registration team.

The main duties of the post:

  • Support the Superintendent Registrar in the overall management of the local Registration Service for births, deaths, and marriages.
  • Supervise and provide day‑to‑day guidance to Registration Officers, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the register office.
  • Oversee the delivery of statutory registration services, maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and council policies.
  • Supervise complex or sensitive cases, providing expert advice and support to staff and the public.
  • Process card payments and assist with coordinating all bookings and ceremonies.
  • Deputise for the Superintendent Registrar as required, including representing the service at meetings and events.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and professionalism across the team.

You will have experience in:

  • Previous registration experience is essential and knowledge of relevant Acts and Regulations.
  • Management experience and knowledge.
  • Experience working within a customer‑focused environment.
  • Experience of supporting, motivating, and supervising a team.

Ideally you will have:

  • Degree level or equivalent qualifications.
  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) Registrar’s Qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety at work.
