Responsibilities:
- Deliver projects and activities in line with Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health and Welsh, which includes DoE and youth forums.
- Support young people to become involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of services and activities at the youth club.
- Ensure that local authority policies and procedures are observed in respect to safeguarding, equal opportunities and health and safety.
- Inform the Worker in Charge of any concerns regarding grievances, complaints, incidents and/or accidents or safeguarding issues.
- Complete all relevant youth club paperwork in accordance with the local authorities procedures and policies.
- Attend three pre-term meetings per year.
- Maintain up to date knowledge in the field of Youth and Community Work through undertaking training including the three per term training events.
- Deliver projects and/or activities which broaden horizons and promote community cohesion.
- Attend Employment Development Reviews annually and identify training and development needs.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have the ability to work with young people and colleagues to deliver a range of activities at the youth club.
- No experience is required at this stage; however, the successful candidate will be required to complete the relevant youth work qualification within two years of commencing this role.
- When this qualification is achieved, registration with the Education Workforce Council will be required.
- Working with young people between the ages of 11 – 24 in a variety of settings.
- Knowledge of the purposes and principles of the youth work curriculum statement for Wales.
- The relevant national youth work qualification required for registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) before employment commences is mandatory.
- Welsh Language skills are Essential.
