About the role:

We are currently seeking a School and Community Support Worker to join our team as part of our response to support children, young people, and families impacted by the recent Tata and supply chain job losses. The successful candidate will work directly with children, young people, and families to help maintain engagement in education, wellbeing, and community life. The role will involve holding a caseload, planning, facilitating, monitoring, developing and evaluating a range of interventions in a strengths-based, person-centred approach. This post will work in partnership with schools, educational professionals, community organisations, and other agencies to provide a joined-up response that promotes resilience and positive outcomes for children and their families. The successful candidate will be based in all schools within the Ysgol Cwm Brombil cluster for a portion of time.

About you:

  • You will have experience of engaging with children, young people, and families to build trusting, supportive relationships.
  • Wellbeing initiatives in the outdoors.
  • Delivering interventions to address wellbeing, engagement, and family support needs.
  • Working in partnership with a range of agencies to deliver holistic and coordinated support.
  • Supporting individuals facing significant change, redundancy, or community impact.

A relevant qualification is essential – for example, in Education, Youth Work, Community Development, Family Support, Social Care (or an equivalent discipline).

If you are passionate about helping families and supporting children to stay engaged and thrive during challenging times, we would love to hear from you.

About us:

We believe in rewarding and recognising our colleagues’ efforts and achievements. We also believe that there’s life at work and life outside of work. We want everyone to be healthy and happy and have the financial resources and support they need.

  • Hybrid working (in some roles) and flexible working schemes to improve your work life balance.
  • Benefit from a competitive employee package with a remarkable 22.4% employer pension contribution.
  • Enjoy a holiday entitlement of 25 days, increasing to 32 days after 5 years’ service (plus 8 bank holidays).
