Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces.

We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to join our team as Procurement Business Partner. As part of the agenda for Procurement Reform, the role will contribute to leading change in an evolving procurement landscape, helping to shape the future of procurement within the Council, as part of the Corporate Procurement Team. You will enhance the team in modernising and raising the profile of procurement activity across the Council in the context of legislative change.

As part of the role of Procurement Business Partner, you will act as a lead across the Authority’s procurement activity, providing advice, support and effective contract management, and carrying out procedures that ensure compliance with Procurement Legislation. You will need to demonstrate experience in leading public sector procurement exercises, providing professional level procurement support and advice, with knowledge of the full procedure and legal process. The post holder will seek opportunities for collaborative working, and streamlining of procurement activity, to meet the Authority’s objectives for cost-efficiency, while maintaining social value outcomes and legal compliance.

About you:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Full or working towards Full membership of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) (Level 6) or equivalent
  • Supplier and contract management experience, and knowledge and experience of procurement legislation and commissioning
  • Commercial and data analysis abilities, and presentation and communication skills, with experience working in a team environment, delivering a customer focused service
