Location of post: Hybrid Working: Home / Margam Park. Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces.

About the role:

Are you ready to support one of Neath Port Talbot’s most exciting cultural opportunities? This is an exciting opportunity to support the submission and delivery of the Port Talbot Town of Culture bid, helping the project team to coordinate activity, strengthen partnerships and deliver a high-quality programme in line with agreed governance and funding requirements.

Your daily routine will include:

  • Supporting the Town of Culture project team to compile and deliver the programme in accordance with agreements made with UK Government and local and regional governance structures.
  • Assisting with Town of Culture consultation activities involving the NPT Culture Partnership, local communities, stakeholders and partners.
  • Coordinating project team, partner and funder activity by organising meetings, taking minutes and helping to track agreed actions.
  • Developing and maintaining monitoring, reporting and evaluation systems, ensuring robust and accurate record keeping.
  • Compiling and submitting financial claims to funders, collating evidence to the agreed standard and within set deadlines.
  • Monitoring performance by gathering data, producing statistical reports and advising the Town of Culture Programme Manager and senior officers on progress against targets.
  • Supporting monitoring and quality assurance processes for contractors and consultants appointed to assist in delivering the Town of Culture bid.
  • Assisting the team to ensure the programme is delivered within the agreed delivery profile and to the required quality standard.

About you:

We are looking for an organised, proactive and confident Project Officer with experience in developing projects, working with partners and coordinating a range of people. The successful candidate will be able to support programme delivery, manage meetings and actions, maintain accurate records, assist with consultation activity and ensure monitoring, reporting and financial claim evidence are completed to the required standard. They will be an effective communicator with strong organisational skills, good ICT skills and an interest in culture, arts, heritage, tourism, events and their wider community and economic benefits.

Applicants are required to have a minimum of five GCSEs, including English and Maths, together with a minimum NVQ Level 4, or equivalent qualification, in Business Administration or a related field. Ideally, candidates will also hold a minimum HND qualification, or equivalent, in a leisure, culture, arts or tourism-related subject.
