We are currently looking for a compassionate and motivated Residential Care Officer to join our team at Trem Y Mor Respite Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on care and key working a number of individuals with complex support needs. This will include completing person-centred care plans and risk assessments, ensuring all documentation is in line with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) requirements.
Main Duties:
- Providing high-quality care and support to individuals who require a safe, stimulating environment with appropriate supervision.
- Liaising with families and health professionals.
- Attending multi-disciplinary (MDT) meetings.
- Creating care plans and risk assessments.
- Reviewing documentation, including quarterly reviews, to ensure care plans remain accurate and effective.
Our service operates seven days a week, offering a programme of activities and therapies in conjunction with health professionals where appropriate. These are tailored to each individual’s level of need and are designed to:
- Maintain and improve health and wellbeing.
- Promote independence and personal development.

Essential / Desirable Criteria:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to achieve within two years of commencement).
- Ability to use IT systems to maintain accurate records (essential).
- Registration with Social Care Wales (or willingness to apply immediately upon starting).
- Experience of working with individuals with complex needs (desirable).
- A caring, flexible and person-centred approach.
