We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as Principal Procurement Business Partner (Commercial). As part of the agenda for Procurement Reform, the role will contribute to leading change in an evolving procurement landscape, helping to shape the future of procurement within the Council, as part of the Corporate Procurement Team. You will enhance the team in modernising and raising the profile of procurement activity across the Council in the context of legislative change.
As Principal Procurement Business Partner (Commercial) you will act as a lead across the Authority, identifying and delivering on business partnerships and commercial opportunities relating to the Authority’s procurement expenditure. The post holder will seek opportunities for collaborative working and streamlining of contractual arrangements, to meet the Authority’s objectives for cost‑efficiency, while maintaining social value outcomes and legal compliance.
You will need to demonstrate experience in providing professional level procurement support, leading and coordinating strategic procurement exercises, with knowledge of the full public procurement and legal process.
About You
- MCIPS Qualification or an equivalent Business or Management related qualification;
- Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply or equivalent professional membership, which would be desirable for this role;
- Business relationship and commercial experience, excellent presentation and communication skills, and experience working in a team environment, delivering a customer focused service.
