About therole:

We are currently seeking a dedicated,enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our team as aPlacement and Training Officer within the new TrailblazerProject.

The Trailblazer Programme is an ambitious,multi-agency initiative led by Neath Port Talbot Council toreduce economic inactivity and improve wellbeing across ourcommunities. We\’re currently delivering innovative projects inour Opportunity Hubs and outreach locations, working alongsidehealth professionals, training providers, and employers to helppeople overcome complex barriers to work. From supportingresidents with mental health and long-term health conditions, totackling digital exclusion, housing instability, and lowconfidence, we\’re at the forefront of creating tailored,life-changing solutions that make a genuine difference inpeople\’s lives.

You\’ll be joining a passionate, supportive,and forward-thinking team who believe in the power ofcollaboration and kindness to achieve lasting results. Wecelebrate success together, share knowledge openly, and aredriven by the positive impact we see every day.

As a Placementand Training Officer you will to:

  • Coordinate high-quality training, workexperience, and placement opportunities for participants facingbarriers to employment
  • Work closely with employers, trainingproviders, and the Trailblazer Team to design personalised,inclusive pathways into sustainable work
  • Support participants to develop skills,confidence, and qualifications that match their goals and theneeds of the labour market
  • Ensure training and placementenvironments are safe, accessible, and inclusive, withadjustments in place where required
  • Champion equality and inclusion byworking with employers and providers to remove barriers andpromote fair access

Your dailyroutine will to:

  • Engage with employers and providers tobroker placements and training opportunities
  • Match participants to appropriatetraining and placements tailored to their needs and goals
  • Monitor progress and provide support toparticipants throughout their training and placements
  • Coordinate with colleagues and partnersto deliver wraparound support.
  • Maintain accurate records and monitoroutcomes against Trailblazer requirements
  • Promote equality, inclusion, and goodpractice across all placement and training activity
  • Experience supporting individuals withcomplex barriers, such as health conditions, disabilities, orlong-term unemployment?
  • A track record of employer engagementand coordinating placements or training opportunities?
  • Knowledge of vocational training,qualifications, and local labour market trends?
  • Strong communication, problem-solving,and organisational skills?
  • The ability to work in a person-centred,empathetic, and inclusive way?
  • A full driving licence and access totransport?
