Working Style: Mobile hybrid worker: flexible to work from home and from a variety of council workplaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare witness statements for court proceedings.
  • Instruction of experts and counsel.
  • Draft court documents under supervision of safeguarding lawyers.
  • File and serve court documents.
  • Liaise with clients and witnesses regarding evidence and attendance at court proceedings.
  • Maintain records and systems.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by the team and within the capabilities of the postholder.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in child and adult social services work, including public law proceedings.
  • Technical competence in the skills involved in the post.
  • Understanding of the legal process and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Competence in IT for word processing and communication, with good keyboard skills.
  • Familiarity with IT‑based time recording, PDF handling and case management systems.
  • Previous experience in child or adult public law.
  • Substantial experience at a level involving responsibility for prioritising work and demonstrable ability to acquire new skills and knowledge (ideal).
  • Law qualification.
