Responsibilities:
- To contribute to the overall management of the Corporate Services & Governance Division.
- To deliver emerging service strategies (as agreed by the Head of Service) and objectives according to annual service and financial plans.
- To build and maintain effective working relationships across the council and Welsh Government, working in partnership with managers and trade unions.
- To liaise with other services in the Directorate and throughout the Council, and with other agencies, to maximise the overall benefit of service provision.
- To be responsible for the operational management of the budget associated with the Corporate Services Team, ensuring that the best value is achieved and that the budgetary cash limit for the section is not exceeded.
- To lead, manage and engage teams within the service through shared standards, commitment to improvement and development of end user focused services – ensuring regular and effective communication and performance management.
- To encourage a culture which protects the safety, health and wellbeing of all staff and stakeholders in line with corporate policies and procedures.
- To ensure business continuity planning across the service is up to date.
- To promote equality of opportunity for all in line with corporate standards, policies and procedures.
- To actively encourage a supportive culture and workforce capable of delivering the Agent’s and service’s vision, priorities and values, and take reasonable steps to maintain and enhance resources, partnerships and staff development.
- To deputise for the Strategic Manager CSG and undertake such other duties as may be reasonably allocated by the Strategic Manager.
