About the Role:

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Casual Night Care Assistant. Trem y Mor is a transient 16-bed short-break service providing respite for adults with a wide range of support needs, including complex health needs, severe learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that may challenge. Our purpose-built unit is located on the Aberavon seafront and supports individuals while giving their unpaid carers essential time to rest. The service is staffed by a committed team of around 75 employees.

As a Night Care Assistant, you will be part of a team of 5 staff responsible for completing a wakeful night shift, ensuring the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of the individuals staying with us. You will follow care and support plans, complete scheduled checks, and use monitoring systems to maintain safety throughout the night.

Your duties will include:

  • Participating in handover at the start and end of each shift
  • Supporting allocated individuals throughout the night
  • Responding promptly to call bells
  • Completing regular night checks in line with care plan
  • Providing personal care
  • Administering medication (following appropriate training)
  • Carrying out light domestic duties and laundry
  • Maintaining the security of the building
  • Working within a team

This role involves working 12-hour wakeful night shifts on an as-and-when (bank) basis to cover permanent staff.

About You:

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in residential care or community care
  • A QCF Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, or the willingness to enrol within 6 months of starting the post
  • A commitment to completing all required mandatory training
  • Maintain registration with Social Care Wales
  • A caring, patient, and reliable approach to supporting individuals with diverse and complex needs.

Full training will be provided for the successful applicant.
