Responsibilities:
- The Area Engineer is responsible for leading the operational management of the South Wales Trunk Road Agent’s strategic road network within a designated region.
- Acting as the custodian of the network on behalf of the Welsh Government, the postholder will ensure the safe, efficient, resilient, and compliant operation of the network through the effective planning, coordination, and delivery of all routine and cyclic maintenance and operational activities.
- The role is pivotal in maintaining asset condition, ensuring statutory compliance, managing risk and driving performance across both internal teams and the supply chain.
- The postholder will support the Highways Maintenance Manager in delivering high-quality, sustainable network management, contributing to the achievement of organisational and Welsh Government strategic objectives.
