About NPsych
NPsych is a specialist team of clinical psychologists and neuropsychologists. We assess and treat clients aged 10 and over with acquired brain injury and related neurological conditions, working closely with case managers, solicitors, deputies and multidisciplinary teams.
Unusually for an independent provider, our clinicians work across inpatient and outpatient settings as well as in people’s homes and communities, so you can follow clients through their rehabilitation and keep your caseload varied. Our work includes neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, trauma therapy, mental capacity assessments and medico-legal work.
Where we are recruiting
We are looking for clinicians in East Anglia (Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire), Essex, Kent, Surrey and the South West. In these areas, referrals are already waiting for a local clinician.
The role
- A caseload of assessment and treatment across [inpatient units, outpatient settings and clients’ homes].
- Clinical autonomy, with the support of a specialist team.
- Opportunities to develop capacity and medico-legal work.
- At 8c, scope to lead a clinical area and shape our standards.
Specialist training in trauma and neuro-EMDR
Treating PTSD after brain injury is a core part of our work. You will be trained and supervised in adapting EMDR for clients with cognitive, communication or fatigue-related difficulties (neuro-EMDR) by clinicians who are developing this area.
- Specialist supervision in trauma-focused work and neuro-EMDR.
- Funded EMDR training and support towards accreditation.
- A free place at our conference, “When Physical and Mental Trauma Collide” (4 March 2027, Westminster).
What we offer
- Salary above NHS rates at every grade, plus the monthly bonus.
- Varied work across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
- Travel time counted as working hours, and mileage reimbursed.
- 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata).
- Regular clinical supervision and peer support.
- Study leave and support for the PGDip in Clinical Neuropsychology or QiCN.
- Full admin support so your time goes on clinical work.
About you
- HCPC-registered clinical psychologist.
- Some experienced in either: neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, learning disabilities or long-term health conditions. Or looking to develop it.
- Interested in trauma work; EMDR training is welcome but not essential.
- Comfortable working independently across different settings.
- Driving licence and access to a car helpful.
