Controls & Commissioning Engineer - Electrical

About the role:
You will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems. This includes final assembly and installation of equipment on site, initial testing and debugging of interfaces and communications, and supporting projects from installation through to completion of the commissioning phase. You will also help develop and troubleshoot our varied controls and automation processes.
About you:
You will bring at least four years’ experience in an electrically biased role, for example Controls/Commissioning Engineer or Automation/Controls Technician, with a strong grasp of electrical principles. Experience in automation, material handling, scanning, barcode readers or robotic systems is preferred, alongside a relevant electrical qualification.

This role is fully site based with travel across Europe and varying project durations. You must hold a valid passport and driving licence, and the relevant electrical safety clearance.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, commission and troubleshoot electrical, electronic and PLC systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical and electronic equipment.
- Fault find and implement program modifications across a range of PLC, SCADA and robotics systems.
- Complete quality inspections to ensure work is delivered to a safe standard.
- Create and document standard operating procedures, keeping accurate records up to date.
Qualifications & Experience
- An electrical qualification in engineering - for example electrical, robotics or mechatronics engineering.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in a similar role within automation, material handling, scanning, barcode readers or robotic systems.
- Proven ability to fault find and modify programs on PLC, SCADA and robotics systems.
- Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Confident reading of mechanical and electrical drawings.
