We are looking for 2 Street Lighting Operatives to cover Rochdale, Oldham and Calderdale. You will carry out general duties, including all aspects of digging associated with LV service jointing, column/sign/bollard erection/removal and associated cable networks. You will also drive, deliver, and perform general yard duties in support of the Utility Solutions business.

Key Responsibilities

  • The removal or decommissioning of assets as required.
  • Work in connection with the installation and decommissioning of ALL associated street lighting equipment and EV connections.
  • Driving general company vehicles.
  • Excavation work for joint holes, columns, sign and bollard installations and associated cable runs.
  • The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role.
  • Providing support to skilled and specialist operatives.
  • Working in a safe manner and in accordance with Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Complying with operational working practices and associated risk assessments.
  • Taking full ownership for personal Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Mentoring young and vulnerable persons on site.
  • Ensuring PPE is worn at all times.

Qualifications

  • A current NRSWA operative qualification.
  • A high degree of manual dexterity.
  • The willingness to work unsociable hours if required by the business.
  • The ability to understand and carry out work instructions.
  • The ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • The ability to communicate with colleagues.
  • The ability to interact with the public in a polite and courteous manner, while carrying out work.

Desirable qualifications

  • An appropriate G39, HESA 210 and 214 safe isolation qualification.
  • MEWP CPCS qualifications appropriate to the role.
  • Up to date UK Class II Driving Licence.
  • CPCS Lorry Loader or equivalent.
