This is a great opportunity to build and lead a team of AWS/DevOps Engineers from scratch! The company is a 2‑year‑old start‑up that has created a technology platform serving the healthcare industry.
We are seeking a Manager of Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps for our growing start‑up healthcare technology company based in Tampa, Florida. This is a full‑time, direct‑hire position offering competitive salary and benefits. Candidates may be located in Florida or anywhere in the South‑East US.
In this role you will have ownership and accountability of all cloud infrastructure solutions to meet company needs in software and delivery. This is a hands‑on technical and management role, leading the cloud infrastructure and DevOps team to meet requirements for software development, product deployment & operation, and customer onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and operate the company’s cloud infrastructure with optimal design, performance, scalability, security, and high availability.
- Collaborate closely with the software engineering and project management teams to deploy and operate the product within the software development life cycle.
- Work with system administration and security compliance teams to integrate and operate infosec controls for HiTrust certification requirements.
- Be responsible for the wellbeing and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure solutions and DevOps processes, including evaluation, recommendation, and selection of cloud‑based services/tools.
- Design, review, and lead implementation of application deployments.
- Provide day‑to‑day maintenance and operational support, including troubleshooting and development hotfixes.
Examples of Projects and Tasks
- Architect and lead the build of infrastructure for AWS environments using an IaC approach and change control/SDLC.
- Architect and lead the build of metrics/alerting for monitoring applications and infrastructure.
- Ensure continuous performance and security compliance as environments evolve.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
- At least 3 years of management/supervisory experience in software development and cloud DevOps engineering environments.
- Experience hiring, managing, mentoring, and leading team members.
- 4+ years of professional hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services in a DevOps role.
- Extensive experience automating AWS services (RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Experience with Kubernetes, ELK, and Terraform.
- Experience with Bash and Python scripting.
- Experience with CI/CD processes (preferably Bitbucket Pipelines, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).
- 2+ years of experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt.
- Working knowledge of Docker/containers.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate well with architects, developers, DevOps, and the IT management team.
- Self‑motivated, highly organized, analytical, and result‑oriented.
