We’re proud to be partnering with an industry-leading technology company at the forefront of space connectivity and advanced wireless systems. Our client develops groundbreaking software and algorithms that power satellite and aerospace communication networks helping to connect land, sea, air, and space like never before. With deep roots in innovation and collaborations with global research centres, they’re shaping the future of how the world communicates.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a highly skilled Wireless Communications Engineer to join this pioneering team. In this role, you’ll apply your deep understanding of wireless communication theory, signal processing, and mathematics to design and develop next-generation algorithms that improve performance across complex, high-speed networks. You’ll work closely with software engineers, system architects, and researchers to transform theory into real-world technology — supporting everything from multi-antenna (MIMO) systems to Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) that connect satellites and aircraft.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and developing algorithms for channel estimation, prediction, and radio resource management (RRM).
- Applying advanced mathematical and signal processing techniques (linear algebra, probability, matrix theory, etc.) to optimize wireless networks.
- Translating complex theory into practical, implementable engineering solutions.
- Working with teams to integrate your algorithms into real-time software and simulation frameworks (3GPP, O-RAN, SON, RIC, SMO, etc.).
- Creating clear, detailed technical documentation and sharing your findings through reports, visualizations, or presentations.
- Optionally contributing to simulation frameworks, standards work (3GPP, IEEE, IETF), or research publications.
What We’re Looking For
- MSc or PhD in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Wireless communications theory (MIMO, beamforming, channel estimation, RRM)
- Linear algebra and matrix theory (SVD, eigenvalue problems, etc.)
- Probability theory and signal processing
Bonus Points For
- Experience with MATLAB, Python (NumPy/SciPy), NVIDIA Sionna, Aerial SDK, or QuaDRiGa.
- Knowledge of 5G NR, LTE, WiFi, or DVB-S2X standards.
- Familiarity with optimization methods, convex optimization, or ML for wireless communications.
- Programming in C++, Golang, Python, Java, or Rust.
- Background in AI/ML signal processing, neural networks, or GPU-based frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, CUDA).
- Research publications or patents in wireless communications.
What’s On Offer
- Work on world-changing technology at the frontier of wireless and space systems.
- Collaborate with top-tier engineers and researchers in an international environment.
- Enjoy hybrid and remote working options within the UK.
- Receive a competitive salary, pension, health insurance, and equity opportunities.
- Be part of a mission-driven team shaping the future of global connectivity.
Eligibility
Must have the right to work in the UK. Fully remote within the UK, with flexibility for collaboration days.
Diversity & Inclusion
Our client is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. They celebrate diversity and are committed to building an inclusive environment for all employees. Applications are encouraged from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
