About the Opportunity
Our client is a UK-based, purpose-led organisation that works with public, private and third sector partners to design, test and scale practical innovations that improve outcomes for people and communities. They are seeking a Group Systems & Cloud Engineer to take responsibility for the core technology platforms supporting the wider Group. Reporting to the Group Senior Technical Architect, you will manage identity and access, endpoints, SaaS platforms, security tooling and cloud infrastructure. You will also support automation and infrastructure initiatives alongside the Group DevOps Engineer and act as a senior escalation point for the service delivery team.
Role & Responsibilities
As Group Systems & Cloud Engineer, you will take day-to-day ownership of the systems, platforms and infrastructure supporting the wider Group. You will ensure these services remain secure, reliable and appropriately governed, while improving efficiency through automation and effective technical processes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full identity lifecycle within JumpCloud, including onboarding, role changes and offboarding
- Maintaining SSO, SAML, OIDC and SCIM integrations across core SaaS platforms
- Administering Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Slack Enterprise Grid
- Managing the Groups Windows and macOS device fleet through MDM
- Maintaining endpoint policies, security configurations and operating system updates
- Supporting security platforms including CrowdStrike, Cloudflare One and Cloudflare WARP
- Administering cloud accounts, access, networking and security across AWS, GCP and Azure
- Monitoring platform health, investigating incidents and improving system reliability
- Automating operational processes using scripting and workflow tools
- Supporting infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD initiatives with the Group DevOps Engineer
- Maintaining DNS, system backups, recovery procedures and technical documentation
- Acting as a senior escalation point for complex service delivery issues
- Supporting compliance with Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
- Working with suppliers on upgrades, integrations and new Group entity onboarding
- Providing clear, approachable technical support to colleagues across the organisation
Qualifications: Key Requirements
You will be an experienced Systems, Cloud, Infrastructure or Workplace Technology Engineer with strong technical foundations and a proactive, service-focused approach. You will bring:
- Strong experience administering Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
- Hands-on experience with JumpCloud, Okta or another IdP/MDM platform
- Knowledge of SSO, SAML, OIDC, SCIM and automated provisioning
- Experience managing Windows and macOS endpoints through MDM
- Practical experience with AWS, GCP or Azure
- Scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash or Google Apps Script
- Good knowledge of networking, DNS, VPCs and traffic security
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience resolving complex technical issues
- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
- An understanding of security, data protection and access governance
Experience with Cloudflare One, CrowdStrike, Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD, Cisco Meraki, Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001 would be advantageous.
