JOB DESCRIPTION:
My client is looking for an IT infrastructure engineer on an initial 10-month fixed-term contract to support the delivery of key IT infrastructure projects and service operations across the business.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and manage key IT infrastructure projects across the business working closely with managed service providers
- Monitor, diagnose, and resolve problems with key IT systems to a 3rd line level.
- Act as the onsite lead / support engineer with various ongoing key projects and upgrades, for example, IT infrastructure for existing and new greenfield sites, IT business integrations, Windows 11 upgrades etc…..
- Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using scripting, tools, or other automation techniques to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Previous hands-on technical implementation and support of solutions and projects across the following technology stacks in a medium / large enterprise;-
- Windows Operating Systems
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Azure experience
- M365 – including Intune, Entra, and Exchange Online
- Backup, Disaster Recovery & Data Archival technologies
- Solid understanding of networking and wireless technologies (LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN).
- Knowledge of IT-related security products/services (firewalls, anti-virus, patching, etc.)
- PowerShell scripting
- Package management & deployment
- Active Directory management and GPOs
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience in working with outsourced service providers to deliver critical IT services within SLAs
- Experience in overseeing infrastructure and end-user computing in a complex IT business environment.
- CompTIA A+ certification
- Microsoft Certification: Azure Administrator Associate
- Highly motivated and able to work autonomously and alongside an agile IT team
- Advanced analytical and communication skills
- Proven track record of successfully supporting complex IT infrastructure
- Strong IT skills, able to use all Microsoft Office applications and other systems/databases required as part of the role.
