Vacancy Type: Full-time, Permanent and Hybrid (3-4 days in the office and subject to operational needs)

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum (subject to experience)

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant looking to make a real impact in an innovative and growing company? At NP Aerospace, we are at the forefront of ballistic personal protection and military vehicle integration, supporting critical defence operations worldwide.

As a Management Accountant , you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational analysis in a fast-paced finance function.

With NP Aerospace experiencing significant growth since 2018, and further expansion on the horizon, you’ll be instrumental in improving core financial processes. From costing and variance analysis, intercompany pricing, and cash flow management to monthly management accounts, statutory reporting, and audit scheduling, you’ll drive efficiencies and enhance financial insight across the business.

Beyond transactional finance, you’ll support the company’s transformation by developing analytical reporting, strengthening business partnering, and working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director to make finance a more strategic function. With reporting split between our Armour and Vehicle divisions, this role sits within the Armour division.

You’ll need strong Excel skills, a hands-on approach, and a ‘can-do’ attitude to tackle diverse challenges.

While based in Coventry, occasional UK and international travel may be required to collaborate with key stakeholders.

MAIN JOB DUTIES

As Management Accountant , you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, providing insightful analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making across NP Aerospace’s UK and Canadian operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Monthly Management Accounts – Prepare and deliver comprehensive management accounts, including group and external reporting, variance analysis, and insightful commentary.
  • Balance Sheet & Reconciliations – Perform thorough balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date.
  • Accruals & Adjustments – Calculate, post, and reconcile accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Fixed Assets Management – Maintain fixed asset registers, calculate depreciation, and process relevant journal entries.
  • Cash Flow & Foreign Exchange – Oversee cash flow reporting and forecasting while monitoring foreign exchange fluctuations and their financial impact.

Costing & Inventory Management

  • Standard & Current Costing – Maintain and update standard and actual costs for both purchased and manufactured items to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Inventory Control – Oversee inventory management, ensuring strong controls, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy.

Compliance, Audit & Taxation

  • Audit Support – Assist the Financial Controller in managing internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Sales Tax & Compliance – Calculate and report sales taxes in line with UK and Canadian tax regulations.
  • Statutory Reporting – Ensure all statutory financial reporting requirements are met accurately and on time.

Business Partnering & Functional Development

  • Operational & Engineering Finance Partnering – Work closely with senior management in Operations and Engineering to provide financial insights that drive informed decision-making.
  • Sales & Order Intake Reporting – Track, analyse, and report on key sales and order intake statistics to support business forecasting and strategy.
  • Finance Team Development – Support the Finance Director in driving continuous improvements within the Finance function, enhancing processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.

EXPERIENCE

  • Part-Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven Experience in Finance Process Improvement – Demonstrated ability to enhance financial reporting processes, improve functionality, and drive efficiencies.
  • Broad Finance Expertise – Strong all-round finance experience, ideally gained within a fast-growing or evolving business environment .
  • Strong Communication & Stakeholder Management Skills – A confident communicator who can build effective relationships across all business functions, influencing decision-making and driving collaboration.
